WEEKEND HOLD----
i do not feel that comfortable holding a normal position over the weekend;
news may be dropped premarket, including OFFERING NEWS which may negatively impact the stock potentially;
(i am typically not awake and alert at this point; stock's move quickly / highly volatile at market open where it matters most).
WITH THAT SAID, CONSIDER TRADING THIS PATTERN IF IT IS 100% CERTAIN THAT OFFERINGS RARELY OCCUR ON MONDAY MORNINGS ON THESE TYPES OF "STRONG CLOSE ON FRIDAY" STOCKS.
ALSO TRADE IF I HAVE EXCESS CAPITAL TO EXPERIMENT WITH/INVEST WITH.
ALSO CONSIDER TRADING IF I AM LIVING IN EUROPE OR MIDDLE EAST WHERE I AM GUARANTEED TO BE AWAKE DURING PREMARKET AND ALERT AT MARKET OPEN..
ALSO CONSIDER TRADING IT SINCE SYKES REALLY LIKES THIS STRATEGY AND IT IS QUITE PROFITABLE INDEED, STATISTICALLY SPEAKING BASED ON OTHER DATA REVEALED (TUESDAY BEING A 'REVERSION' DAY WHERE THE STOCK THEN DROPS).
WEEKEND HOLD
Trade Friday mornings if: the stock is threatening to take out it's pre-market highs and have a breakout, because there is short-squeeze potential then.
Trade Friday afternoon if: the stock is not cracking its support levels | and/or if the stock has released good news | and/or if the stock is breaking above Thursdays or Wednesdays day-high -- this can lead to Short-squeeze potential (because short-sellers do not want to hold over the weekend when the stock is still up on the day and testing resistance/holding intraday support or multi-day support.

CRITERIA | SCANNER (for finding A+ setup of the pattern)

use STT's """"Biggest % Gainers Over 5 Days"""" scanner  (i.e. open a new tab in STT, click "scans"), to find stocks in the past 5 days that have the potential to reach their highs toward the END OF THE DAY....... these can make for SHORT-SQUEEZE potentials........as it makes short-sellers nervous to hold overnight / over the weekend........ especially if these stocks meet the rest of my criteria below.

  1. the current day is a FRIDAY.
  2. scan for stocks that spiked 50%, 200%, 300% over the past 5 days (the stock should've spiked earlier in the week and held it's highs all through FRIDAY).... even if the stock is up 1,000% or 10,000% on the week--- that means it's loaded with shorts! and that means if it gets a news article come Friday or Monday morning, there's a good chance it could explode (short-squeeze!).
  3. has a Friday catalyst (good news on Friday morning or afternoon).
  4. did the stock PERK UP/CLOSE near it's HIGH OF DAY on Friday?
  5. Is the stock holding/consolidating near its highs (theoretically it can then breakout and create new highs), OR (it is down -50%+ making it a good DIP BUY *if* the news catalyst is really amazing).
  6. did the stock SQUEEZE IN AFTER-HOURS on Friday?
  7. did the stock trade 100x or 1000x it's average daily trading volume (high volume)?
  8. does the stock have HEAVY FLOAT ROTATION?
  9. stock is a recent runner (is currently or was a %Gainer lately).
  10. stock is above VWAP (use VWAP as my STOP LOSS, potentially).
  11. stock is in a hot sector? if the stock is NOT in a hot sector, I'm not that curious about it.... if it IS a hot sector, we know what hot sector stocks can do that are low floats with news and perk up into a Friday... come MONDAY MORNING, the stock gaps down a bit, then goes RED-TO-GREEN #WORG and can spike 300+% very high (short-squeeze!).... consider adding to my statistics tracking spreadsheet, the same criteria my SHORT-SQUEEZE criteria has!
  12. is the stock a LOW FLOAT?
  13. does the stock have a LOW MARKET CAP?
  14. is there a high SHORT % FLOATFriday short-squeezes can get out of hand quickly....... If you really want to take advantage of the Friday Morning Short squeezes, you look for the most active stocks (the biggest percent winners), and you try to ride these morning spikes as they take out the day high.....

**a Friday spike is likely to occur IF ON THURSDAY the stock spiked as a DAY 1 (or even if Wednesday was its Day 1).... and if the stock on FRIDAY breaks above its PREVIOUS DAYS HIGHS.... if the stock rides up on Thursday (as a day 1 ride up), then on Friday (if it breaks the Thursday day-high) - the stock is liable to spike even more! "

Keys (keys to heed when trading the pattern)

HOW TO PLAY THE WEEKEND HOLD: Theoretically, you can HOLD OVER THE WEEK, then SELL INTO THE GAP UP ON MONDAY MORNING (70%+ gain) (short-sellers are scared to hold over the weekend so they 'buy' to cover and short-squeeze the stock), then you can DIP BUY the Monday morning panic (40+% gain) if there's a panic after it's gapped up (the panic happens in the morning and can take 30+mins to completely tank).

ADD TO MY POSITION AND/OR BUY SHARES at around 3 pm or 3:30 pm.
Even if somehow some article didn't come out (if it had no news), at worst, the stock is still going to have momentum based on a technical breakout.
I normally like buying 3 pm, 3:30 pm.

You don't have to hold over the weekend. You can take partial or ALL profits into strength on Friday afternoon (if it spikes big).

During a bear market, only hold WINNING TRADES overnight, otherwise if you're at BREAKEVEN or barely up, or red on the trade, SELL RIGHT AWAY (it's just not worth holding overnight at that point!).......
BUT IF YOU'RE UP 15+%, AND THE STOCK IS HITTING NEW HIGHS, THE STOCK IS ABOVE VWAP, THEN YOU CAN HOLD IT OVERNIGHT AND LOOK FOR THAT GAP UP THE NEXT MORNING TO SELL INTO.........
WINNERS HOLD WINNERS, LOSERS HOLD LOSERS.

Min 6:20 - Min 7:40 ------ Hold the stock over the weekend if on Friday it is trending well above VWAP ------- https://youtu.be/DeDxNoAu9dI ......

Learn to take profits circa 2:30 pm or so, since most day traders do not like to hold overnight (and eventually will sell mid to late day), be sure to take profits prior to the wave of sellers selling their shares (and the ticker price dropping). Most traders like to take their profits before the day ends.. So be very careful. Don't trade after 2:30 pm.... If you're long on a stock, you want to sell in mid-day, or before 2:30 pm. -Dux

Friday runners collapse toward the end. (stocks that spike on Fridays tend to collapse toward the end of the day near closing). -Sykes

If the stock HOLDS SUPPORT on friday, it can squeeze. Experience has taught me that if a stock is not cracking support on a Friday afternoon, it can squeeze (spike). If a stock holds support, it can squeeze. -Tim Sykes

Veteran traders buy the momentum on Fridays.. newbies buy on Mondays...

When the stock goes crazy, that's when you really want to trade.....when there's pandemonium going on... buy a breakout above the previous high....also toward the end of the week, buying on a Friday==Friday's are very special where the hype can really build, short-sellers are scared to hold short during the weekend, so it gaps up over the weekend.......it really spikes, and it crashes in a 30 minute period on Monday ..that's volatility.... -Tim Sykes

Monday gap-ups are notoriously known for being very good in spiking (when consolidation with volume happens on Fridays based on a stock's being up from a First Green Day a couple of days prior at the least), so long as it holds on Monday morning over the previous Breakout level. . . -[Marianna commentary] #mondays

When determining whether to hold a stock overnight or not, find out if their stock has good fundamentals (because if not, they might drop an offering (and the stock could GAP DOWN)). -Sykes #overnight #gapUp #gapDown

Stat tracking (stats and columns to track, for the pattern)

Only track the STOCKS that successfully played the pattern out! this way i can look for the multiple similarities the "successful" stocks had with one another, and find consistencies in the probabilities behind a pattern's success.... Then create RULES to follow (based on the factors that the stock ought to possess (i.e. low float, etc.).

I CAN ADD [SPIKEET] TO MY EXCEL SPREADSHEETS BY USING THE "SPIKEET PLUGIN" TO RETRIEVE STOCK MARKET DATA FOR ME -------- www.twitter.com/_spikeet/status/1567826513915006976?s=20 ......... https://bit.ly/3xB4seL ......... #SPIKEET #EXCEL
_____________________________

FOR ALL PATTERNS, I MUST:
1. track the average gain (the average gain possible across 100+ samples) --- tells me when best  to take profits (so i don't get greedy; gives confidence in holding my position optimally).
2. track the top tick % (what is the avg top tick ($) across 100+ samples) --- tells me when it is best to enter the trade.
3. track the bottom tick % (what is the avg bottom tick ($) across 100+ samples) --- tells me when it is best to exit the trade.

As a beginner trader, narrow your entire trading to one or two patterns so you can just FOCUS on those patterns... Then improve your entry and exit points to make this pattern PERFECT based on your performance... Experienced traders know where they're going to enter and exit. Beginner traders do not have enough data to back up their thesis. This is the major difference between experienced and beginner traders... -Dux

DATA-DRIVEN PATTERN STATISTICS
Within the past 15 days (if it's a very hot market) [or if it's a slower market, then the last 100+ days], find statistics on the strategy for:
~ what percentage did the pattern work (turn profitable)? (i.e. the pattern works 82% of the time)
~ what was the average profit rate percentage return of the pattern? (i.e. the pattern gives a return rate of 15% gains)
~ what was the average risk rate percentage return of the pattern? (i.e. the pattern gives an average risk rate of 5%)
~ what is the frequency of the pattern occurring? (i.e. the pattern over the past 10 days "in this hot market" has been working every single day, multiple times)
* then from the data, i can determine what my risk/reward for the setup would be (5% of 15% = 3:1 risk/reward), with 82% profitability, and it's happening every single day multiple times.
~~~running data benefits you a lot in seeing what works and what doesn't work, how often it works.............
I say it all the time …
The two best times to be aggressive as a day trader are Friday afternoons and Monday mornings.
On Friday, it’s all about squeezes.
But on Mondays, it’s all about capturing the new week’s momentum.
If you wanna be the early bird that gets the worm, you’ve gotta be prepared on MONDAY MORNING.
Monday gap-ups are notoriously known for being very good in spiking (when consolidation happens on Fridays based on a stock's being up from a FGD a couple of days prior at the least) so long as it holds on Monday morning over the previous Breakout level.....
BE SURE I WAKE UP EARLY ON MONDAY MORNINGS FOR PRE-MARKET BREAKOUTS ON TICKERS THAT ENDED NEAR THEIR HIGHS ON THE PREVIOUS FRIDAY.... THESE STOCKS CAN SPIKE HUGE IN PRE-MARKET ON MONDAY MORNINGS! AT 4 AM, 5 AM EVEN... ESPECIALLY IF THEY MATCH THE CRITERIA OF THE WEEKEND HOLD PATTERN, then MONDAY MORNING (pre-market, or market open) becomes a trade day for the ticker!  [Min 14:35: https://youtu.be/HDChGGfg2s4]....
DO NOT HOLD THE STOCK through the "shareholder call" (if that was what the positive news catalyst was about). Profit on the hype press release pertaining to the upcoming shareholder conference call only! BUY THE RUMOR, SELL THE NEWS! [Min 8:30 ---- https://youtu.be/YSzvIZCu_o4]
REMEMBER: the press release that is released on a FRIDAY AFTERNOON serves as the catalyst for the company, the promoters, traders is going to spread it everywhere. This is all about cheerleading. These companies cheerlead themselves so that they can raise more money, so that they can raise the stock price, so that they can then have better odds of success for actually fulfilling their big promises and their hype.
I ALREADY WATCHED EVERYTHING BELOW!
FRIDAYS are one of my favorite trading days. Volume tends to decline and shorts cover going into the weekend because who wants to be left with 48 hours where any news can hit... -Bohen #fridays
STRATEGY:::::::::::I always like adding on a Friday when a stock is high...because that leads me to believe there is enough momentum to push it through on Monday... Even if somehow some article didn't come out, at worst, the stock is still going to have momentum based on a technical breakout...I normally like buying 3 pm, 3:30 pm...you're betting on the news traveling over the weekend...-Tim Sykes
STRATEGY:::::::::::Stocks tend to spike on Fridays going into the close......because shorters don't want to have shorts over the weekend....... veteran traders buy the momentum on Fridays.. newbies buy on Mondays...it creates a great probability for BUYING ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND SELLING ON MONDAY.....-Sykes
Holiday plays (at the end of the day, heading into a holiday weekend) can run! Mark this down. . . -Sykes
Strategy::: January's and Friday's are two very important days::::::: January- stocks can spike because of the tax-loss selling......Friday's- stocks can spike because the news can spread over the weekend...
Friday's- stocks can spike because the news can spread over the weekend...
"What makes Friday different than any other day..................... it's really the fact that short-squeezes are more possible.. Stocks are more prone to squeeze as the market is about to close."  FRIDAYS ARE GREAT TO PLAY, IN AFTERNOONS (GREAT TO BUY STOCKS AND THEN SELL IMMEDIATELY ON MONDAY MORNING).
BUY THE RUMOR, SELL THE NEWS
Experienced traders buy the rumor in anticipation of the news. Then they sell to newer traders who buy the press release.
The ‘buy the rumor and sell the news’ strategy has a logic to it. But it also has reinforcement from the market.
Remember — strategies aren’t ‘systems.’ We don’t use a strategy like this because it’s foolproof. We use it because other traders use it.
If enough traders believe something will happen, they create the conditions for it to happen. This is supply and demand 101.
Stock rumors are the time when the market dreams. If the rumor’s juicy enough, these dreams can get big…
REDDIT and TWITTER are rumor factories.
SYKES: I like Mondays and Fridays... because I like those late-day catalysts that can lead over the weekend (from Friday)... And then Monday, you have a lot of new morning spikers, a lot of news companies like to report.. So this is the beauty of trading.. Even though we trade similar stocks, we have similar mindsets, we have different patterns.
ROLAND: I do agree with Mondays. . . Another thing I like about Mondays is that people are just amped on Mondays for some reason; like everyone's just been cooped up, they haven't been trading, so people are just eager to trade. . You'll generally hit some decent volume (volatility) on Mondays . . .
